The Sprout in the Field

A man walks through the fruits of his labor.
He picks the ripe ones,
Waits for the immature,
And tears up the dead and rotting.
In the midst of this field, a tree stands.
The tree is the symbol of the promise.
It grows strong and fruitful.
One day the man comes across another sprout by the tree.
Unsure of what the sprout meant,
The man dug it up and threw it in the fire.
A day later, the man ventured back to the field and the tree was dead.
Scared and shocked, the man ran to the house.
There, in the middle of the house, was a little sprout growing.
As the tree begame bigger and bigger,
The man got scared but watered and nurtured the young sappling.
Later, when the tree was full-grown, the man ventured out into the field.
The field was dead.
The tree spoke to the man as he returned.
"Fear not.
"The field is not dead for good, but by pulling up the sprout that was trying
to grow, caused fear in the others.
"But fear not, for the sprout will grow through the ashes, and the field will
      once again flourish."
