Jackson's role on the television series 'BeastMaster' has helped millions of fans to follow his character, Tao on Dar, the BeastMaster's journeys through lands full of magic and adventure. Dar is the strong BeastMaster, who has been given the power to talk to animals by the demon Curipura. Tao is his clumbsy, but smart "sidekick" and companion. Tao is much different than his friend, because of his understanding of science and more modern ways of thinking. He loves to learn things. Dar helps him to understand the things he could never find in civilization. He educates him about magic and mystical powers.
Dar and Tao, often spend time in the Sanctuary, which is a place where they are, usually safe. Along with them, often travel Kodo and Podo, two playful ferrets and Ruh, Dar's Tiger friend and guardian. Dar, is, also befriended by a hawk named Sharak and all the other animals of the forest.
The show reveals little about the characters' pasts. Dar was rescued and given his powers by the demon Curipura. His quest started when his love, Kyra was taken prisoner by King Zad. Unfortunately, though, she did not survive the show's first season. Now, the BeastMaster fights to save those who can be helped. His friend, Tao grew up in the city Xinca, where he was sent from, by his elders to learn about life outside the city. He was supposed to return and share his experiences, but while he was gone, the city was taken over and most of his people were taken prisoner or sacrificed. Some were able to retreat to the forest, but Tao does not know what happened to his family, which includes his older brother, Kim, who he says is a lot like Dar, the BeastMaster. |
