Here are a few meanings behind some of their songs: Dumpweed: (Tom) That's all about wishing you had a girl you could train. I remember writing the song about my dog. You can train the dog to sit, to be quiet, and be a good dog. But you can't teach a girl anything. So I thought that'd be cool to write a song about...If you only had a girl you could train like a dog, that'd be cool coz then she could never make you mad, and she'd never be a woman. And woman are just a whole different species. So that song was written like- 'As if..' Don't Leave Me: (Tom) Mark wrote that song, so I can't really talk about what was going through his mind when he wrote it. But I can judge on the lyrics. He wrote that song when he didn't have a girlfriend, so I didn't know who he's talking to. Sometimes you write a relationship song that doesn't really have that much deep meaning to it. I think it's just like that feeling when you're really really in love with a girl, and you're thinking, 'Please please please don't stop liking me.' That's the jist of the song. All the times you put your feelings into liking a girl, and she doesn't like you at all, ans she thinks you're a scumbag. So that song's like a prayer to a girl.
Aliens Exist: (Tom) As a hobby all I ever do is read books about UFO's and government conspiracies. So I wrote a song about a guy talking about aliens though he's had a weird experience, but nobody believes him, they think he's full of shit. But he's directing his angst against the government, because he knows the government know there's something going on. But I'm one of those freaks who really believes stuff exists. I think if anybody does a little research, they will find that they side with me. I think it's just a cool song coming from a point of view.
All The Small Things: (Tom) 'All The Small Things' is a song I wrote for my girlfriend while were recording. I had to write her a song, because I wrote songs about other girls, but I hadn't written one for her. So I was kinda getting some heat for that. Not really though, because I love my girlfriend, and I was like 'I need to write a rad song' because I was scared- because if I wrote a bad song, my girlfriend would be pissed. The lyrics are totally true 'she left me roses by the stairs'. I remember I came home one night about midnight and she had left roses on the stairs because I was working late at the studio. Its a song for everyone to have sex to

What's My Age Again?: (Tom) Mark wrote that song because he was 27, and he was always rolling around on the floor and farting or something in front of a girl, and he'll be laughing, he'll think it's so funny. And she'll be like 'how old are you?' And that's why he wrote the song.
Adam's Song: (Tom) The song is about a letter Mark read that someone sent to him by email, that a kid wrote before committing suicide to his parents. We kind of got together and wrote this slow, sad song. It came out sadder than we ever thought it would, which was good too. Any song that moves you is good. Some people listen listen to it and go 'Wow! That's a real bum-out of a song.' But its a song about a kid not being happy in his life. At the end, there's a better way out, there a better things to do than kill yourself.
What's up with name Enema of the State?
What's up with the name Enema of the State? The answer: To educate, according to Mark Hoppus 'In order to maintain good health, your body must be able to eliminate food and bodily waste. Your colon, together with your lungs, skin and kidneys are designed to accomplish this essential task by elimination of toxins in the intestines, blood and lymph systems.' Continues Tom DeLonge 'The process of digestion from ingestion of food to defecation, normally takes from 12-24 hours assuming the colon is fully-functional and nontoxic. Irregular or infrequent bowel movements can allow toxic residues to remain in the colon.' Travis Barker concludes 'It is very rare in this society, to find normal function of a healthy colon. For abnormal function, colon hydrotherapy, or enemas-as they are commonly known- are recommended. And this is what we need to tell the kids-take care of your colon, and your colon will take care of you.
Blink 182 used to be called 'Blink' but some Irish band also had the same name, and so they threatened with legal action. So 182 was added to the end of Blink and urban legends arose that this number had some special meaning...well sorry to dissapoint some, but it doesn't.
Blink are: Tom DeLonge plays guitar and sings, Mark Hoppus plays bass, does vocals, and Travis Barker plays drums. Scott Raynor is the ex-drummer for Blink. Some say he left on bad terms, some say he left to further his education, but according to a recent edition of Kerrang! magazine, it shows that Scott never went on to college. Hmmm.... Blink 182 live in San Diego, California, that is when they aren't touring.
