Brush dripping with recently ended rain showed its remaining droplets with pride, letting them shimmer in the light of the near full moon until they were slapped away by a figure dashing by them, the water dripping down onto the ground in small arcs. The slightly matted brown fur captured some of the rain, drawing their shimmer to the figure. Hard muscle flexed and extended as he ran on all fours, the scenery around him a blur so intense was his speed, his snoutish mouth curling into a snarl before letting out a beastly roar directed at his prey. He panted very lightly from the effort of maintining his speed, golden eyes focused sharply on the awkwardly scrambling figure of a man ahead of him. Thief, thief, thief... He sniffed at the air, slowing down for only a moment to catch more of the scent. No, more of them...thieves... He gained speed again, and hit an overturned tree, using the log as a place to kick off from and leaping into the air, letting out another vicious cry as his front hand-like paws met the running man's back, knocking him into the damp undergrowth face first and tumbling down after him. But he didn't let it stop him; he used the momentum from their fall to continue his roll, sharp claws curling around the thief's shirt as he stood on his hind legs and hurled the body over his head, delighting in the slick crunch he heard as a spine snapped against a thick tree trunk. He paused, remaining on his back legs as he usually did when not going for speed, and glanced around, bright eyes piercing through the darkness easily to spot the other three or four thieves as his longish ears twitched this way and that. They all rushed at him, and he roared, reaching a thickly muscled arm out in a swipe across one's face, a sneer touching his canine features as the man's head snapped to one side, the bones of his neck cracking before he collapsed limply to the ground. Another attacker found sharp teeth sunk into an arm that had at one point been meant to do damage, not receive it. A quick jerk of the monster's head and most of the flesh was removed from the bone, and he paused to lick the blood from his jaws before burying a paw in the former attacker's gut, ripping out intestines as it exited once more. One man jumped at him, and the wolf's elbow hit his torso on the way back from his latest attack, blood and organs dripping from his claws as he turned and continued his swipe, slicing the man's face into so many strips of ruined flesh. The last thief he leaped upon fully, his jaw ripping into his throat as he ripped apart his stomach with his paws. After all of them lay dead, he rose to his feet, his tongue once again peeking out to rub away the blood and entrails form his jaw. Thieves...they would never attack his village again.
