Mrs. Swan T. BURKLAND, a long time resident of this city, died Thursday June 1st at the family residence, 1134 12th Avenue. She was born in Sweden on 28 September 1846 and came to America in 1869. Two years later, she was married in 1871 and came to Moline to live. She is survived by her husband, a carpenter and by 3 children - Miss Almeda C. at home; Theodore L. of Peoria and Mrs. Glenn F. BURGSTON of this city. She was a member of the Swedish Methodist Church. Three sisters also survive in Sweden. (Thursday June 8, 1905, Review Dispatch, June 9 )

A.L. BUNNELL, a machinist, died this week at the city hospital. He was born Jan 17, 1884 in the East and came to Moline with A.L. WARNER, about 4 years ago. He resided at 1021 25th Street and leaves his young widow and his parents.

Mrs. William BRANDT, died Thursday at her home, 1228 Elm Street in Rock Island aged 22 years 2 months 23 days. She was born in Andalusia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. HAMMOND of Sears. She was married April 9, 1904 to William BRANDT. She is survived by her husband, parents, one sister and 2 brothers.

BJORNDALL
Charles BJORNDALL, died recently at Dallas, Texas. He had worked here as a plowfitter for the past 25 years. He was born September 4, 1860 in Moline and spent his entire life here. He married Miss Mary DOPPLER on June 3, 1881; she survives along with 3 children: Mrs. W.D. EVANS, Joseph and Robert BJORNDALL. He is also survived by a brother Chris ( no last name given) residing on 7th Street and by 3 sisters - Christine in Oklahoma, Mary and Ida in Denver. Burial will temporarily be in Dallas. BONNANDOR
August BONNANDOR, a boarder at 1118 5th Avenue, died this week at the city hospital. He arrived in this country from Sweden only 3 months ago. ( March 3, 1905)
BULL
Horace J. BULL, died Monday at his home in Carbon Cliff where he had resided since last fall when he moved there with his family. He formerly resided in the lower end of the country and was aged 52 years. He is survived by his widow and 3 children. ( February 24, 1905 ) Moline Review Dispatch
Louis BAUER, died Monday at St. Anthony's hospital in Rock Island aged 28 years. He had been employed at the Vellie Carriage Company shops. He formerly lived in Moline but lately had lived in the east end of Rock Island. He is survived by his mother, his widow, a brother Charles and a sister, Mrs. Kate BECKSTROM.

BAUER
BOLLESON
Mrs. John BOLLESON, formerly of Moline, died January 5, at her home at 1407 31st Street, Rock Island. She was born Elsie ANDERSON on Feb 24, 1826 in Engsy, Sweden and was married in 1859 to Mr. BOLLESON. Some years later, they settled in Moline where they lived until 8 years ago when they located on a farm 2 miles south of Milan where Mr. BOLLESON engaged in fruit growing. Only recently had they settled in Rock Island. She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Miss Alice. She was a member of the Swedish Baptist Church of Rock Island. Capt. William BOLAND who was in command of the steamer SIDNEY last season, died Wednesday at the Marine Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. (Friday May 15, 1891)
BAKER
Mrs. Elizabeth BAKER, died July 11th and was buried July 12th in the village graveyard. She was born in 1845 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and was aged 46 years. She was nmarried twice; both of her husbands are deceased. She is survived by one daughter - Mrs. J. Dixon. Mrs. Kate Purdy of Morrison is her sister. S.M. BUTTERFIELD, age 75 years of Macomb,  McDonough County, formerly of Rock Island, died today in Macomb. He is survived by 4 sons - Pharris L. BUTTERFIELD and Harold B. BUTTERFIELD of Rock Island, Archie BUTTERFIELD of Scottfield, Illinois (only these 3 sons are named) and by 2 grand-daughters; Mrs. Betty BUCKLEY of Rock Island and Mrs. Jane RUSSLER of Wallace, Idaho and by one grandson Robert ( no surname is given) of Table Grove, Ills. His wife died Sept 2nd. The Dodsworth funeral home in Macomb is in charge.(Rocl Island Argus Dec 8, 1941)

The funeral for Mrs. Alice Louise BRAUNWORTH HALSTEAD aged 75 years, a former school teacher in Rock Island and Mercer Counties., were Friday in the Wittich chapel, Muscatine, Iowa with burial in the Greenwood Cemetry,. She was the daughter of Jacob and Louisa (WAGNER) BRAUNWORTH and was born 11 October 1866 in Muscatine, Iowa. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. She is survived by a son Braunworth Halstead of Muscatine; a daughter Alice SCHMARJE of Muscatine; a brother William BRAUNWORTH of Bentonville, Arkansas; a sister Miss Jessie A. BRAUNWORTH of Muscatine and a grandson James HALSTEAD.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and a brother. (Rock Island Argus. Monday Dec 8, 1941)

Marie Seefeldt Baker Died Jan 21,1997 Milan, ILL. - Services for Marie S. Baker, 95, of 4 Suburban Heights,will be 2 p.m. Friday at Jinks Famil Funeral Servies, Milan. Visitation is one hour before the service. Mrs. Baker died Tuesday, Jan 21, 1997, at Trinity Medical Center East Campus, Moline. She own and operated the Old Toll Gate Antique Shop, Milan for 50 years. Marie Seefeldt was born May 17, 1901, in Andalusia. She married Glen Baker in 1928 in Davenport. He died in 1955. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

James W. "Jim" Bleuer Sr., 73, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at his home. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment with military honors presented by American Legion Post 569/200 and VFW Post 1303 will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island There will be no visitation. Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
James was born April 22, 1930, in Rock Island, the son of Harold L. and Jennie Crosby Bleuer. He married Patricia A. Edmonds Dec 8, 1956, in Bloomington, Ill.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. For his service in the Army he received the Korean Sevvice Meddal with bronze service stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
Jim was a mechanic for a time with the former Economy Motors, Rock Island, and later owned and City Service Gas Station. He then was employed with UPS for many years and lastly with Tollenaers Truck Trailer Repair from which he retired in 1992. He was a member of Teamsters Local 710, a life member of the Rock Island VFW Post 1303, and a member of the Rock Island Conservation Club. He loved to play pool, play cards, fishing, and dancing. He had a great sense of humor and was known to many as "Smiling Jim"
Jim is servived by his wife, Patricia Edmonds Bleuer, Rock Island; daughter, Jill Hall, Milan, and Shelly Bowlyou and her husband, Byron, Chetek, Wis.; sosns, Jack Bleuer,  Milan, Jim Bleuer Jr. and his wife, Linda, Milan, and Rick Bleuer and his wife, Jan, Geneseo; grand-children, Missy, Brandon, Becky, Jack, Ricky, Amy, and Jennifer; great-granchildren, Carrie, Nicole, and Ashley, mother, Jennie Bleuer, Rock Island; sisters, Patty Carpenter, Rock Island, Wilma Hallenbeck and her husband, Wayne, Kelseyville, Calif., and Jennie Bleuer and her companion, Gary Walz, Greensboror, N.C.; brother, Jack Bleuer and his wife, Joy, Milan; aunts, Flossie Handley, Milan, Bessie Reed, Milan, and Fern McCandless, Moline; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends; and "best friends," Fluffy and Brandi.
He was preceded in death by his father, an infant brother, Harold Bleuer Jr.; a grandson, Steven Hall; and a granddaughter, LeAnn Bleuer.
