Horses are creatures too and have feelings. They shouldn't be wasted for dog food or meat! Horses help the handicap build self esteem and win a friend. They are a way of transportation and fun to compete. Horses are valuable animals. They help heard cattle and are very special friends to many people.
Some people don't think it hurts a horse to be slaughtered, but it does! Horses are first cramed in to a trailer and taken to the slaughterhouse. In the trailer, the horses are not watered or fed. It is very crowded. Then the horses are lowered into a chute called a "kill box." Then, a spike is driven through the horse's forehead, into the brain. This is to paralyze them. Next, the horse's throats are cut and they are hung by their feet to bleed to death. They usualy do not die for at least ten min. Then the horses are dropped into a conveyer belt and cut to peices.Other people say the horses are worn and can't be fixed. Well, they can. People save them all the time from the killer pit. All they need is food, a vet checkup, and love. Even if the horse could not be cured, it should be alowed to die a normal death or put down if it is seriously injured.
