| 1. Boy foals are called colts and girl foals are called fillies. 2. These little baby horses are called foals untill they are 3 years old. Yearlings are one year old foals. 3. A newborn foal can stand in one hour and keep up with the heard in 24 hours. 4.When a foal is first born, it's legs are adult size. It cannot eat grass because it's legs are so long it can't reach it! A foal nurses on it's mother's milk, until it can eat grass. 5.The best time for a foal to be born is in the spring time, when the weather and grass are good. |
