| If you have wandered through my pages, you already know what I like to read and what I like to listen to, among other things. For those of you that have above average curiosity and want to know more about who I am, this is for you. Hopefully, I will not offend anyone with my rantings, but if I do, you should remember that what I write here is my opinion. I do not expect everyone to agree with me, but just as you want your opinions to be respected, you should be respectful of mine. Onward and upward.... Favourite colours ~ cranberry, wine and similar shades; hunter green, teal or blue-green colours Favourite smells ~ rain, vanilla musk, fresh brewed coffee, the smell of a bakery, and men's cologne, especially Polo Sport or Escape for Men Favourite foods ~ pasta of any kind, chinese food, CHOCOLATE!!! Favourite drinks ~ coffee (by IV drip if possible!), iced cappuchino, Molson Dry, Polar Bear shooters, Corona, Sour Puss Raspberry shooters Favourite pastimes ~ reading, time with family and friends, crochetting, cooking, baking, bingo (yes, I said that! *L*) and of course surfing the net Favourite movies ~ Rocky Horror Picture Show, When a Man Loves a Woman, 9 1/2 Weeks, The Green Mile,Grease, and Dirty Dancing (I STILL cry at the end....lol) Favourite TV ~ Law & Order, Law & order: SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI, Trauma: Life in the ER, Investigative Reports Favourite Actors ~ Jack Nicholson, Johnny Depp Favourite Actresses ~ Bette Midler, Meg Ryan Favourite Female Vocalists ~ Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Nelly Furtado, Jann Arden, Faith Hill Favourite Male Vocalists ~ Elton John, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Sam Roberts Favourite Bands ~ Nickelback, Staind, Creed,Our Lady Peace, Matchbox Twenty, U2 Turn-ons ~ honesty, sincerity, soft kisses on the neck, spending time lost together, pillow talk, being impetuous or spontaneous, backrubs and massages (giving and receiving), a nice smile and sexy eyes, whispered innuendoes Turn_offs ~ ignorance or rudeness, chauvenistic attitudes, being taken for granted, people who are intolerant of other's differences, self-centred people I don't like.....freezing cold or roasting hot weather, squash (the vegetable kind *L*), romance novels, soap operas, racists, homophobes, arrogant and egotistical people who think they are better than everyone else, seeing my daughters cry, moths, spiders, tofu, people in authority that abuse their power , sweet potatoes, oysters, liars, thieves, being late for appointments, waiting, washing silverware, freezing rain, weeds in the water when I am swimming... I love.....the scent of a baby's skin, baby animals, flowers picked by my girls, early morning cuddles, homemade cards and pictures, laying in bed listening to rain, the satisfaction of completing a task, cheesecake, hairy chests, the comfortable silence you can share with friends, kisses goodnight, candlelight, fresh, cool sheets, the sounds of a casino, picnics, a great sense of humour, hot peppers, camping, roasting marshmallows, swimming late at night, bubble baths, laughing hysterically with friends over "inside" jokes, sunrises, sunsets, making someone smile, slow dancing, having someone brush my hair... What needs to change ~ Turning a blind eye, or tolerating neglect, abuse, injustice, or hate: We are all together on this planet for however many years we each may have. Many of us bury our heads in the sand, and wait for somebody else to help, speak out, or get involved. Learn to be more tolerant, smile at a stranger, reach out and help someone less fortunate than you are...Express your beliefs...protect the rights of others...you just might make the difference to somebody who feels abandoned, scared, or hopeless. And who knows, you might be on the receiving end when you least expect it and need it the most. What I am thankful for ~ freedom and life...no matter how black it seems at times... |
