That was no disgruntled New Yorker. It was an Atlanta man who was arrested on charges of driving Braves reliever John Rocker's stolen Chevy Tahoe.
But Robert Robden, 24, didn't give up the vehicle until it crashed into a house in East Point, Atlanta police said.
Atlanta officers making a routine sweep through an area near Greenbriar Mall that is known as a dumping spot for stolen autos noticed a blue Chevy Tahoe driving hastily away when they arrived Saturday afternoon, said police spokesman John Quigley.
The officers gave chase and radioed in the tag number, learning the vehicle was stolen.
They chased the car to East Point, Quigley said. The chase ended when the SUV went across a lawn on Dewberry Lane, crashing into a house. Robden faces several charges, including possession of a stolen auto, Quigley said.
