Mottled Houdans
Mottled Houdans are an old and rare breed of poultry first developed in the Houdan region of France. Documentation of the Houdan can be traced to the 1700's, but it is very possible that they could be much older. Characteristics include a large crest, beard, fifth toe, "V" comb, and mottled leg coloring. The Houdan is considered an all-purpose breed - they are good layers of large white eggs and they are also a good table bird.
