Black Japanese Bantams
The Japanese Bantams are one of the few "true" bantams. They are not a miniature of a large fowl. They have extremely short legs and a very cocky stance. The Japanese Bantams carry their tail high and forward over their backs. This trait is called "squirrel-tailed" and is a dis-qualification in most other breeds.
In years past, I have used these short-legged dynamos in my garden. They did an excellent job of keeping the bugs at bay, while not tearing up the ground and plants. I did, however sacrifice a few low-hanging tomatoes to them. A small price to pay to keep my garden pesticide free!
