Amy, there is an owl outside (admittedly, it has an oddly long beak, but that's just the breed ^^;) for you! And I think it has a letter ^^

Dear Amyfrass,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Hogwarts for your first semester training under the finest tutors of the magical arts. The semester will begin on July the 30th, please reply using the owl before this time. A list is enclosed of the required texts for this year, as well as the rules for first year witches and wizards. A familiar may be brought to the school if you so desire, preferably a cat, toad or owl.
