This is a basic guide for those of you whose Airsoft training includes plainclothes scenarios. The example given here will detail how to draw a pistol from a belt holster concealed under a sport coat.

Start with your strong side (the side you shoot with) hand comfortably at your side. As soon as you need to draw, bring that hand up in a fluid motion and pull back your sport coat to expose the handgun. Remember to keep your eyes on the target at all times while drawing - it takes practice, but after a while it will become natural. If you look down at your gun while you draw, your target will probably move on you, and then he/she has the advantage.

Place your hand firmly on the pistol's grip. If your holster has a thumb snap retaining the gun, undo it with your thumb as your hand slides into place on the pistol while keeping your weak (non-shooting) hand in front of you in a defensive posture. If your holster relies on friction rather than a thumb snap for retention, you may need to reach over with your weak hand and steady the holster with it as you draw, as pictured above. Note that the trigger finger is outside the trigger guard at all times until you have your sights on your target.

As soon as the pistol clears the front of the holster, start to bring it forward, still keeping your finger off the trigger.

As you continue to move the gun forward, bring your weak hand to meet your strong hand and use both hands to grip the pistol. If you drew your pistol without having an immediate target, keep the pistol close to your body and pointed down at a 45 degree angle in the "low ready" position. If you do have an immediate target, engage it while seeking cover if possible. If you're not in a protective detail, your best bet is to seek cover FIRST and then draw/return fire.
