Subject: Ski Information 2003/2004

Hello Skiers and Snowboarders,

It looks like we are all registered and ready for another season of fun on the slopes of Blackstrap!!
I hope this e-mail reaches everyone who is interested.  If you hear of anyone not getting the ski info they need, please let me know.  I plan to do as much communication by e-mail as possible to save on time and my sanity!

We will be skiing/boarding on the following available dates:
Jan. 8  Jan 15  Jan 22  Jan 29
Feb 5 Feb 12 Feb 19 Feb 26
Mar 4 Mar 11 Mar 18  and the rest depending upon weather.

Lessons will start promptly at 1 p.m. so it is very important to be there at 12:30 to get tickets purchased, skis rented and fitted and be ready to go!

The age requirement for LESSONS is 5 years of age.  This means if your child is younger but wants to rent skis and ski then okay but lessons can't happen.

The cost  for rentals, a 1 hour lesson and the lift ticket for skiing is 13$
The cost for rentals, a 1 hour lesson and lift ticket for boarding is 20$

Ability Levels are defined as follows:

NEVEREVER:  as it sounds/ never had skis on.
BEGINNER: knows how to snowplow and use the towbar
INTERMEDIATE: can make fairly good turns and is competent on the chair lift
ADVANCED: carefree and making parallel turns etc.

Anyone can join the ski list at any time but must go through me to get the Homeschool
deal.
I must let Blackstrap know the number of skiers/boarders, the number of lessons for
skiers/boarders at least one week in advance,in order for them to provide adequate
instructors for our needs.  They would like to have us organized to the degree that groups
will have the same instructors week to week for those going on a weekly basis.

What I need from you is the following:
1. Decide which days you will be at the hill.
2. Decide whether or not you will have a lesson and at what level.
3. Email this information to me ASAP   [email protected]

There is a snowboarding jump park at the site and this makes it imperative that ALL
BOARDERS HAVE HELMETS.  Blackstrap does NOT have helmets available.

Now comes the bends in the rules:
1. You can e-mail me by the Tuesday a.m. before to change your mind about going or
not going that week.
2.You aren't required to take a lesson to get the Homeschool rate, but the rate does not change.

This is required so that we can have good instruction and a good time at Blackstrap. They don't appreciate having too many instructors and we don't appreciate not having enough so we need to be good about giving them  accurate numbers.

I shall try to do a good job of keeping up with the changes etc. The more notice you can give the better and easier for me and the lady at Blackstrap!

Thanks for making this program happen!

Please let me know if I have left out any info that you need to make your choices!
I will have info regarding closures due to weather etc. available later on.
