Audio Tweaking Tips

Disable 3D sound even if you have a hardward 3d sound card. It eats a lot of processor power.

If you wish to use 3D sound here are some tips for optimizing performance:
EffectsChannels, the higher the number the more realistic. A lower setting will improve performance. For multiplayer you should lower it to 12 or so.
OutputRate, the higher the setting the better quality the audio. 44100Hz is CD quality. 22050Hz is optimal for MMX machines.
UseDigitalMusic, set this to False to disable the in-game music from playing. This can improve performance.
UseDirectsound, set this to True to improve performance.
UseReverb, set this to True to enable reverb effects, improve performance by setting it to False (especially with A3D2 cards).
UseFilter, set this to True to enable filtering, improve performance by setting it to False (A3D2 cards).
UseStereo, set it to True for better audio quality.
Use surround sound, if you have a surround sound receiver e.g. Dolby Digital receiver, then you should tick this. Otherwise, leave it unticked.
