Newman: Donald Fischer
Norman is one of original members of the
Home and Away cast.
Norman says he was always going to be
the villain character on the show.
"The producers originally wanted me to
be a really evil town councillor," he says.
"Then they changed their minds and cast
me as the headmaster. At first he was the headmaster from hell and while
he has mellowed a little over the years, but he is still a villain as far
as the kids are concerned."
Norman has an extensive list of credits
in Australia and the UK.
The Australian television programs he
has appeared in include Five Mile Creek, Land of Hope, Special Squad, Rafferty's
Rules, Possesion, Peach's Gold, 1915, The Young Doctors and A Country Practice.
He has also performed with many theatre
companies in Australia and the UK in such productions as Hamlet, Plaza
Suite, The Summer Of the Seventeenth Doll, Sons of Cain, The Diary of Anne
Frank and Whose Life is it Anyway?
