'The Patriot' is a powerful and emotional film that follows the life of Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) and his family through the later part of the War of Independence. Benjamin is caught upo in the war when his life, family and home are threatened by advancing British troops.

Many turn of events convince Benjamin that war is the only way for peace. Joining his countrymen and his eldest son, there militia

set out to destroy and outwit the British, making a mockery of Cornwallis and his soldiers.

Many emotional family and powerful Patriotic scenes that make this film come alive. This film may be titled 'We will not be denied our Independence (or Freedom, but that's been done before)!'  Mel gibson gives an excellent performance as well as Tom Wilkinson and Heath Ledger. Battle scenes may be very graphic at times, faint and squeemish be warned.
