BIO
From the town of Sombra ontario comes the band Shantymosh, bringing their punk/ska, hardcore, and rock 'n' roll sounds everywhere they go. The band unofficaily started in the summer of 2003 when bassist Doug Nahrgang went to sombra to jam with guitarist Brent Aarssen and drummer Kevin Toms, for the first time. The band officaily started during the following November when the band got down they're first cover, and when they decided that Doug would sing for the band. The band started doing many covers of their favourite bands (The Bouncing Souls,Operation Ivy, Rancid, The Decendants, and more) which also influenced the music they would write in the future. The band wrote they're first song Not Today about how religion has corrupted society in late December when they realized they still needed a name. They went through various nameslike Wasted Youth, Prime Ministers Choice, until Kevin one day just blurted out Shantymosh. In early january 2004 the band put together they're website They decided that would design they're website. Check it out at www.shantymosh.cjb.net be the band name and things started to take off. The band immediatly started more songs. They played thier first show at the Embassy in London, Ontario on April 26th, 2004. And started to record they're first full-length album in the summer of 2004. Shantymosh continues to try and stay alive in the scenes of both wallaceburg and sarnia while sending a powerful message through they're music. Theres no telling what they can (or can't) do.
