| Jack O'Neill joined the Air Force at 18 and proved himself to be an exceptional and gifted airman, later he was assigned to a Special Forces unit. He resigned from the military when his son, Charlie, died by accidentally shooting himself with Jack's service weapon. Jack was devastated by the loss, which eventually led his wife to divorce him. He was later recalled to duty by his former commanding officer and sent through Earth's first discovered Stargate, in a mission that gave him a new desire to live. As a Colonel Jack was the founding member of SG-1 After several years of leading SG-1 through missions across the galaxy, helping to save Earth innumerable times, he was promoted to Brigadier General and Chief of Stargate Command, when his predecessor General George Hammond retired. Most recently he was appointed by President Hayes to serve as the head of a newly created federal department of Homeworld Security and promoted to the rank of Major General. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| As a child Daniel's parents were killed in an accident where they were crushed by several large blockes of stone in an ancient Egyptian exibit they were constructing, his grandfather not accepting responsibility for him, Daniel was forced to placed in foster care. After college Daniel became a linguist and an archaeologist, in the later of these occupations he had gained little, if any, rspect in the proffesional world due to his theories that the ancient pyramids were landing pads for alien ships. It was after one of his seminars on that subject that he met Katherine, (I forget her last name) who contracted him to translate and ancient cartouche, his translation of it led to Earth's first dicovered Stargate to be opened. As a member of SG-1, Daniel's humanistic side was often in contrast with Col. O'Neill's militaristic style. | Beginning the series as a Captain, Lt. Col. Carter is a specialist in Stargate technology that holds a doctorate in Astrophysics, and brings both extensive scientific knowledge, and military training to SG-1. Don't worry, I'll add more later. |
