Achatina smithii

Achatina smithii are a medium sized species of African snail, reaching somewhere between 5-9 cm as adults. They are dark-shelled with attractive yellowey stripes and have pale beige bodies. The shell shape is pointed, as with fulica, only the coils are slightly less pronounced. Baby smithii look very similar to baby fulica, and it only becomes possible to tell them apart when they are several months old.
Achatina smithii lay large numbers of small white to yellow eggs which are fairly easy to hatch and rear.

Pictured above are the same Achatina smithii, as babies, and then one year later.

From time to time I may have Achatina smithii available. Geocities prevents me from operating a sales centre on the website but do email me to find out about availability of these snails.
