Comparisons Page.

I have created this page to make comparing the different species of snail featured on my site easier. Rather than clicking back and forth between pages all you will have to do is come here and take a look.
(Under Construction!)

Below you will see comparisons of different species of snail as newly hatched or newborn specimins. Unfortunatly not all the snails are exactly the same age, but as and when I am able to take more accurate, scientific pictures I will post them up here.
Achatina immaculata at 2 days old. Approx 7mm long (average) by about 7mm wide by about 5mm tall
Achatina iradeli at 1 day old. Approx 7mm long (average) by about 5mm wide by about 3mm tall.
Achatina fulica at 2 weeks old. Sorry this is not a very useful picture. They are bigger than they look, being typically about 5mm by 5mm by 4mm when newborn and they grow fairly fast.
Achatina smithii at a couple of months old. Again not a very useful picture.

Below is a comparison picture of the current three biggest species I own. The tiger snail is not yet fully grown, neither is the immaculata. The fulica is pretty typical of the species, though they are capable of growing a good 2 inches bigger than this specimin, which is unfortunatly the biggest I own at present.
And finally this has got to be the best picture I've ever done with my snails. It was done just before I acquired the tiger snail (shame) but it really shows up the differences between the different species.
Guess I should've put it in the photo album but hey, there are so many pictures on this page anyway...!!  (I'll add the numbered key as soon as I get time...)
