MOVING: By October 26, 2009, the following material shall be available only at my new website .
  1. It'll take time but I hope to make available (for download) most of my mathematical work on this website. In the meanwhile, you can reach some of these papers via the MathSciNet.
  2. If this does not work try, for example, google.
  3. Is the fundamental group of a circle trivial ? Hydrodynamics seems to "prove" -- for more on this see "A Topological Paradox of Motion," The Mathematical Intelligencer Vol. 23 (2001) pp. 66-68 -- this!
  4. I'll be posting my less-mathematical papers, for example some historical work connected to Dagshai, on a companion website.
  5. Interested in cacti? See Dr. J. S. Sarkaria's book on the Panchkula Cactus Garden. This botanical garden, a government facility, is run by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (H.U.D.A.), and has from October 23, 2008 been re-named to honour the memory of its founder-curator. Its full official name now is "DR. J. S. SARKARIA NATIONAL CACTUS AND SUCCULENT BOTANICAL H.U.D.A. GARDEN AND RESEARCH CENTRE". Here is a recent photo of this garden's chief gardener Sushil in front of a new board near the entrance. My father Dr. J. S. Sarkaria was also one of the founders, and the guiding spirit, of the National Cactus and Succulent Society, whose annual shows are often held in this garden. The garden is very popular with plant-lovers and is often in the news. The wonderful web-site of naturalist Capt. Suresh Sharma includes some beautiful photos from this garden and contains more information about Dr. Sarkaria. Finally, here is the transcript of a recent interview with a news reporter about this garden.
