| 3/2/02, Saturday afternoon, 5:17 Well, for those oh-so-few who read this diary-o'-mine, I've returned from the hole I fell into for the past few weeks. For most of the time, this hole was called Romeo and Juliet and my school's production thereof. Much tiredness this produced, along with a party that was a bit, um, abnormal for me. In any case, this tiredness carried over into this past week, hence the continuing lack of entry. However, this past night, I went to bed at 10 and then I woke up at 3 this afternoon, so I am now rather well-rested. Hmm, I keep thinking of this to say in this diary, but whenever I actually sit down to write it, I forget. Ugh. I suppose I ought to start just writing the stuff down. Untill then, I bid you adieu. |
| 3/3/02, Sunday Morning, 9:30 Well, I said I'd try to remember to write stuff down, and I did!! I wrote this at about 8:15 this morning: When I woke up this morning at about 7:15 to the sounds of my favorite radio program, I lazed around under my covers for about half an hour, as I love to do on Sunday mornings (and just about every morning, for that matter). When a somewhat jumpy song came on the radio, I was inspired to finally get up. I pulled back the curtain (my bed is next to my windows) to see what kind of day it was, and I got a rather splendid surprise. The first thing I saw was a fir tree that had perfect little droplets of water at the end of each and every needle. I could almost imagine it was ice (an imposibility, considering the temperature). When I looked beyond the tree, what I peered made my soul soar. There were hundreds of pretty little birds on my front lawn! They swooped and soared and laughed their little chirping remarks. They were breakfasting upon the berries on the holly bushes in my yard, but they were everywhere: in the trees, on the roof, on the front porch, atop the lamp, perched on the mailbox. This was all particularly amazing because it was rather dreary outside. It was lightly raining and the sky was gray, and yet these lovely little creatures had come out to play! (I love to rhyme, it always saves time). In any case, I must run off to church now; I hope you enjoyed my little account of nature's splendor!! |
