The CTY Carlisle
Canon
You may have noticed (or, more likely, tried to block out) the multiple scrolling marquees containing song lyrics in various places around this site. Part of the reason for their existance is that most of them contain lyrics to songs form the CTY Canon, and are an integral part of CTY culture.
The group of songs referd to as the CTY "Canon" are songs that hold special significance for most CTYers.  Most of the songs are played at every (or at least one) dance each CTY session (barring DJ screw-ups).  More importantly, these are the songs we've made up special moves to, laughed to, cried to, and given a special place in our hearts.
The following is a list of the canon songs and their performers for the Carlise CTY site.  As you can see, I've starred a few of the songs that may not universally be considered Canon.
The last three songs (in larger type) are held as "High Holy Canon" and are the last three songs, in that order, played at every dance at every CTY site.
The very last song,
American Pie, is the official unoffical CTY anthem.
