STARGRUNT II

When it comes to miniature war games most people think Games Workshop's Warhammer 40K. Well forget about them. I've grown tired of overpriced miniatures, with rules that rush you into close combat so fast your expensive ranged combat troops become a liability rather than a force to dealt with. It's supposed to be the year 40,000 A.D. where did all the high tech stuff go?

Stargrunt II is different. While not that far in the future the technology the troops use and tactics is still stuff we can relate to. And if one army has a weapon system odds are they other side may have one themselves. So stuff like Powered Armor while may still be exclusively used by veterans and elite troops, pretty much every force in the Galaxy has them.

I'm still biulding my armies for SGII, I only have a small force of NAC, NSL, UNSC and Japanese forces at the moment. However my primary army is that of the alien Kra'Vak troops. And the history of this clan is going to be a diversion from the usual Kra'Vak patern. These are the Kra'Vak of the Night Hunter Clan.

Night Hunter Clan

The Night Hunters differ from the Kra'Vak in the most unusual way. Where most Kra'Vak clans all generally share the same flesh tones, the Night Hunters have all the ranges of colors of their speices. They have also desired a way to hold the aggresive nature of their warriors for a longer period of time. At first drugs were used, which only held back the biological change for another year or two. Next gene therapy which proved to be more successful but still after a few years nature still held it's course. Finally the Night Hunter Clan looked at it from a new approach. Total gene spliceing manipulation, and it work although with some undesirable results.

Now the aggresivness of their troops doesn't go away after 20 years of age. Resulting in the Night Hunter Clan having to literally redesign their entire speices. Now only so many troops are of these gene splicing types, just enough to keep them in check.

A standard Night Hunter Platoon.

1 Command squad

1 Fire Squad

1 Recon Squad

A Night Hunter Power Armor Squad.

1 squad, always veteran troops

This is the force to look out for. These are Kra'Vak Elite PA troopers. They have access to the most advanced weapon the Kra'Vak have. Most of these troops are of the advance gene spliced Kra'Vak, making them very rare.

Kra'Vak Snipers, probably feared just as much as the Elite troops.
