| In less than two weeks I'll be back at the Wash....as a senior!!! Wow...I can't believe it. Who knew that 3 whole years could go by so quickly? I'm looking forward to another wonderful year at MWC. But this one will be my fourth and final one. :-( It will be exciting to be a college senior, but a little sad at the same time because I've really enjoyed my college years. Well, the summer of 2002 is almost over....here's what it's been all about: first and foremost- CHINA!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I went to China this summer, from May 23 to June 3. I was very excited about going, and it was awesome! I went with a great group from the MWC BSU on this missions trip to China, where we interacted with some wonderful Chinese students, helped teach English as a second language, and got to see amazing sights in China! Yeah China!!!! Here is a good website about China- www.lynnsupdate.com/mwc_students.htm (don't forget to click on Part 2 after reading Part 1) It gives a description of our trip, and also has some fun pictures. (I'll also be putting some of my own pictures up soon, and dedicating a page on my own site to the China trip!) Last summer (2001) I studied abroad in Barbados for a month!!! "Sweet like sweet potato, fresher than a lime, hot like mauby peppers, Barbados is mine!" I studied Caribbean literature and the culture there. It was indescribably amazing! Click here to see some of my awesome pictures from the trip. I have tons more in an album, but didn't have time to scan and upload all of them. But please take a look at these pictures- they're really fun, and hopefully they will give you a little portrayal of my summer. I was definitely tanner during my time there than I have ever been in my entire life. So check out those pictures- you'll be amazed, and you'll probably never see me that tan ever again. I also worked at the library at home (see paragraph below) before and after the trip- dude, I had to get some serious money to pay for all that! The summer before last (summer of 2000), I worked at the public library at home- Summers County Public Library, where I did basic library stuff (circulation, shelving, assisting patrons) and I helped with the summer reading program. It was a pretty good job. Click here to see this library's webpage- it is really great (created by my brother) and there are some cute pictures on it. And click here to see a picture of me and the other people who walked in the Hinton Water Festival parade this summer. |
