| O.K. Michaela get ready to push.
She took in a deep breath and as she pushed she squeezed Sullys hand again. After a couple more pushes the room was filled with the cry of a baby. Josef held it up and with a beaming face said, Its a girl. A beautiful baby girl. He handed the baby to the nurse so she could clean the baby up. Michaela was glad it was all over and she looked up at Sully with tears of joy in her eyes. Sully bent down to place a soft butterfly kiss on her forehead and before he had the chance to stand back up Michaela grabbed his arm and dug her nails into it. Sully!!! Somethings happening. Dont worry Michaela. Well do this together. After a while the room was filled with the cries of another baby. This time it was a beautiful baby boy. Just when they thought everything was all over, she felt yet another contraction. You have got to be kidding me Did you know about this? Michaela asked her father. Well, I knew you were going to have more than one, but I didnt know they were going to be triplets. Michaela let out one big push and the room was filled with the cry of another baby girl. Chapter 21 When the nurses had finished cleaning the babies off Josef took the opportunity to examine the babies and make sure they were all alright. Sully and Michaela couldnt believe they were the proud parents of three beautiful children. Michaela, thank you for giving me this wonderful gift. Oh SullyI just hope theyre all healthy. They both looked over at Josef in time to see him hand the babies to the nurses. The nurses took the babies away and Michaela exchanged a worried look with her Sully before speaking. Father? Its o.k. Michaela, the babies are fine. They were just born so early that they have to be placed in incubators until they get stronger. Sully looked at Josef and he could tell that there was something else he wasnt saying. He also figured that whatever it was he probably didnt want to worry Michaela with it at the moment, because she had already been through enough. After Michaela was taken back to her room and Sully had made sure she was resting, he went to the nursery to look at his three beautiful children. When he got there he saw Josef next to his little boys incubator. Josef, theres something youre not telling us. What is it? WellI didnt want to tell Michaela just yet, but your son. His lungs arent fully developed yet and hes having a hard time breathing on his own. Will he be alright? Only time will tell. All we can do is hope for the best. Soon after Josef left and Sully stuck his hand in through the incubator and caressed his little boys cheek. He leaned down and very slightly whispered a poem. Lord I'm askin for Your help To raise my newborn son, Give me strength and guide me Cause I know that You're the one. That sent this angel to me A little heaven here on earth, For now I know my place in life... I'm no longer who comes first. |
