| �Michaela I�m sorry I didn�t call. I just lost track of time.�
�Just forget it. I�ve had a long day and I�m going up to bed.� �Michaela. Aren�t you going to sit with me?� �No. I�ve had my supper now I�m going to bed.� Sully tried to get close enough to give her a kiss but she placed an envelope in his hand instead. As soon as the envelope was in his hand she turned around and went upstairs. Sully sighed and shook his head, now he knew he was really in trouble. He ate his dinner with the sealed envelope by his plate. He wasn�t sure he was up to reading what was inside, but at the same time he hated going to bed angry. His intrigue finally got the best of him and he opened the envelope. He was taking a sip of his coffee while he was reading it and as he got to the end he spat it out. His eyes were wide and his jaw dropped. He read it and re-read just to make sure he wasn�t seeing things. He cleared his plate and headed upstairs. Michaela was in their room sitting at the edge of their bed. She had expected Sully to read the note almost immediately. So when he didn�t come up after a couple of minutes she became worried. She wanted to go downstairs, but she knew that if her plan was to work she had to stay put. She could take the anxiety anymore. She was about to go out the room when the door flew open. Sully stood in the doorway with the note in his hand. �Michaela, is this true?� �Would I make something like that up?� �Are you positive?� �Sully I had to give a blood test.� �So we�re really�?� �Yes, we�re really going to have a baby.� Sully ran to her and kissed her soft lips. �You really had me going there for a minute you know that?� �Well�I had to teach you a lesson.� �It worked. I promise that I�ll call next time.� �Good.� �A baby!! Michaela we�re going to have a baby!!!� They were making such a loud commotion that they woke the kids up. Brian came in first dragging his teddybear followed by Colleen and Brian. �What�s going on?� �Kids, we have something we need to tell you.� �What?� �We�re going to have a baby.� �Really?� They all shouted excitedly, and ran to give Michaela a hug. Chapter 13 It had taken a while to get the kids back in bed. They were so excited for Michaela and Sully. After Sully had tucked Brian in he walked back in their room and saw Michaela getting ready for bed. She had put on her nightgown and was now sitting in front of her vanity brushing her hair. He loved the way the moonlight bounced of her soft silky hair. He walked over to her and took the brush from her. She leaned back against him enjoying his gentle touch. �Michaela, have I told you how lucky I am to have met you?� �No.� �Well, I�m telling you now. I�m so lucky that you came into my life�. �I feel the same way�. She glanced into the mirror and saw him smiling at her. He put the brush down and knelt down in front of her. He rubbed her flat stomach and looked into her eyes. �I still can�t believe it. A baby.� |
