| Chapter 34
Sully still couldnt believe that his brother was there. It had been such a long time since theyd seen each other. So little bro, when do I get to meet your fianc? Were supposed to meet for dinner tonight. Why dont you join us? Helene is going to be there too. Youre welcome to join us to Hank. Sully had noticed the way his cousin and Hank had been getting along. He also knew that in the past his cousin had had bad luck when it came to men. The last boyfriend she had told her he would give her the world, but the more she knew him the more controlling he became. So Sully was happy that she had shown some interest in Hank, as far as he was concerned he was a winner. Michaela was expecting to have dinner with Sully and Helene, and was surprised when they came in with Hank and a man shed never met before. Sully gave her a kiss on the cheek as he said hello. Hey, I missed you. Michaela said as he took a seat beside her. Not as much as I missed you. Michaela, Id like you to meet my older brother William. He came in today. Nice to meet you. My God Sully, how did you get so lucky and end up with such a beautiful woman? William said as he kissed Michaelas hand. Michaela started to blush and when she saw William look into her eyes she got an uneasy feeling. She brushed it off though; it was probably just her nerves acting up. Throughout dinner William told them stories about Sully and his adventures when he was younger. Several times Michaela looked over at Sully and could tell that he was blushing. She grabbed his hand and he squeezed it in there special code. Sully winked at her and with his head nodded towards Hank and Helene. They had been so wrapped up in Williams stories that they hadnt noticed how quiet Hank and Helene were had been. When Michaela saw them she saw they were having their own little conversation and she couldnt help but smile. To think I was jealous of your cousin. Sully let out a soft laugh, Yeah, and I was jealous of Hank. With all the preparations for Christmas, and planning the wedding the weeks seemed to fly by for Michaela. She couldnt believe she had finished Sullys present in time. She had been going non-stop with emergencies at the hospital, planning her wedding and trying to get Sullys gift finished. She was exhausted, but she was also excited. She couldnt wait to see the look on Sullys face. The Quinns had invited Sully and his family, Hank and the terrible foursome over to their house for Christmas Eve. The men were in the parlor chatting while the women were in the kitchen. Michaela was setting the table. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved being with her friends and family, and for the first time she had someone to share it with. Just two more months she thought. She felt a pair of strong arms hug her from behind and she smiled. She turned around expecting to see Sully, but instead she saw William. She immediately tried to pull away but William held her tight. What are you doing? Michaela asked with a scared look in her eyes. Oh come on now. You cant tell me you havent wanted this since we met. I dont know what youre talking about. I love Sully. Michaela said as she tried to break away from his arms. You cant lie to me, I can see it in your eyes. William leaned in to kiss Michaela, but stopped when he heard footsteps behind him. He quickly pulled away, and let Michaela go. Sullys going to hear about this Michaela said as she started to walk off. Hell never believe you. Im his brother, hed believe me before he believes you. Michaela was sickened. How could two people that came from the same family be so different? Sully was gentle, caring, compassionate and William washe was.. SCUM Michaela thought. For the rest of the evening Michaela tried to avoid William as much as possible and tried to put that terrible incident behind. It was getting late and the guests were starting to leave. Hank had offered to take Helene home, and he was helping her with her coat when they heard giggles from the other side of the room. They looked to see where it was coming from and were not surprised when it was the four nurses. |
