The Rise of Bistofro
A few centuries after the Prophecy of Valcra, a force of dark creatures such as Orcs, Goblins, and Trolls began to gather on the northern island Ashatar. These forces were led by a warlock who wore a mask that gave him the appearance of a skull and long black robes to hide the rest of him. This grand army of darkness marched onto the main continent and tore through all resistance that stood in their way.

Within a month of setting ashore on the continent, he seized control of the capital city Martog and overthrew the ruling king. He would have killed the king's daughter, but this task proved impossible. It is unknown what happened to the princess, though several believe she has been locked in a hidden prison.

After taking control, Bistofro destroyed several different libraries and books that held information about the Prophecy and the Rings. For nearly six centuries, he ruled unchallenged. Early on in his reign, he created
the militia 'peace keeping' force called The Keepers. It's members are called Raiders and are trained from an extremely young age. It's ranks are made mostly of human men, though there are the occasional woman and orc. These Raiders safeguard the ways of Bistofro and take out all those who oppose him.

Bistofro allowed the countries of Marcala to remain as they were, but the leaders would have to answer to him. Over the years, his hand was not felt in the countryside. But, wherever there was a college that taught magick, there was his wrath the worst. He did allow the mages of Marcala to continue studying, but he seriously limited things that could be studied.
