1st International Workshop on the Effects of War on Children
Aims
1. To train medical students to recognize war reactions in children such as: trauma, stress, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, crisis and anxiety.
2. To train medical students to cope with direct trauma when working with traumatized children.
3. To inspire the medical students to work as volunteers (e.g. working in refugee camps) in their home countries.
4. To train medical students to support the treatments for war reactions in children.
5. To raise awareness among medical students about cultural differences when dealing with traumatized children.
6. To give the medical students the skills to train other medical students about the first four goals.
