"Stan"
1937 Remington Rand Model 1
Stan is named after my late grandfather, who was a Lt. Col. in WWII.  This handsome, no-nonsense type of Remington was often used by the military, in fact.  Models like Stan were used to type letters home to anxious family in the States.

Stan was a gift from author Paul Block.  It was a complete surprise to recieve the Remington on my doorstep one afternoon and I was tickled beyond words at his generousity.  Paul Block is an entertaining writer -- look him up at the library sometime!  I am honored to have this typewriter bestowed upon me and display Stan on my dresser.
