FIRSTS
funky facts about the first featured favorites
The first toothbrush bristles were made from animal hair (how would you feel going to sleep with your mouth full of buffalo?)

The first man to parachute landed in a park in France. He also became the first person to be airsick (makes sense to me)

Peas, spinich, raspberries, and fish were the first frozen foods introduced to grocery shelves (umm...okay)

The first elevator had no motor and was installed in King Louis XV's rooms in his palace (selfish...)

A French engineer found a rubber tree and smeared it on an overcoat trying to make it waterproof- thus inventing the raincoat (he should have just covered himself in rubber)

The first person to become a 'human cannonball' was a female circus performer dubbed 'Zazel'. The cannon was powered by springs (i doubt babynames.com came up with that)

The first bicycle had a horse head carved on the front of it (maybe horses arent that lucky...you dont see them on our bikes)

The first automatic vending machine sold postcards. Later, items for sale broadened to eggs, perfume, condensed milk, handkercheifs, cough drops, sugar, and accident insurance (i can just picture a little dude inside the machine saying 'need insurance??? pay a nickel and i'll try to squeeze out of the machine for you" :)
