Within,
Tears I cry
For you and I
Tears
That seem
Endless
I know
You’re only
Sleeping
Maybe flying
With the angels
Waiting to reunite
With those of us
That believe
But still,
It saddens me
And I sit in disbelief
just cannot conceive
Refuse to understand
Why would someone
End a life
Actions of the hands of man
Child abuse,
Child neglect
Murder,
Violence,
Even suicide
It seems to multiply
In this place called earth
Where I must reside
You are now
In a better place
I envy you to a degree
You are in a peaceful realm
A place where you are free
Free from the hate
The evil that resides
In the hearts of man
But still
I cannot conceive
Refuse to understand
Animals
Protect their young
Why can’t we
Do the same
Most animals hunt
Only for food
But man will hunt
For game
How evolved are we really
When we don’t cherish life
More than we do?
Some don’t care ‘bout
themselves
Why would they
care ‘bout you?
I continue to live
Undoubtedly someday I’ll die
But in between
I will persist to
Fight the good fight
Speaking against the wrong
And working towards the right
All the while
Within
I cry
