What happened to the little ones
Where did they go?
Are they all grown up?
Atleast they think so.
It used to be...
Not time for worries
only time for play
At night they dreamed only
Of fun to have the next day
I remember times
Of playin tag
The Boys love marbles
Girls to them were a drag
The most violent thing
That boys would even dare
Was tuggin on a training bra
Or pulling of girls' hair
And now...
Are their feelings numb?
What has them acting so violently?
Some say it's the cartoons..
The media... or just plain T.V.
Prayer's not in the school anymore
Could that be the reason why?
With single parents or two working parents
For Guidance on whom will the children rely?
Teachers are there to teach them
things they need to succeed
But teaching them morals
Is for the family to breed
But when the family is broken
Is it my job? Is it your job?
Who will raise this lost child?
People say...
It's not my job!
It's not my responsibility!
It's not worth my while!
But I say...
Will it be worth you while if
Your child is murdered
By the same child you turned away?
Or is "Death Penalty"
All you will have to say?
We will continue to lose our children
Until we face the problem
We must try to find the causes
So that we may solve them
Let's STOP thinking
It's not my child that's running wild
And START thinking
It takes a village to raise a child
I'm not sayin
Let's taking away
The parents' responsibility
I'm just saying
Let's not wait
For another tragedy
I know I don't want to see the day
A child kills someone close to me
