1967 Mustang Shelby GT500
"Eleanor"

Now isn't that just beautiful?  Some of you may recognize this car from Gone in 60 Seconds.  It pleased me so much to see this beautiful piece of machine driven so skillfully by such a stud as Nicholas Cage!  This was the last Shelby Mustang produced at Shelby-American's Airplane Hanger plant in Los Angeles.  The Shelby Mustang GT was basically the standard all-American V8 muscle car, but with a different smoother styled body.  Inside the car was stock Mustang deluxe, housing an 8,000-rev tach and a 140-mph speedo.  A roll bar came as standard.  A coiled snake-Shelby's "artist signature" can be found on botht the front and rear lids.  This car was and will continue to be a collector's special. The GT 500 carried a 428 FE big block inhaing through ante to a 355 horsepower engine, with 420 lb/ft of torque on tap.  All this power was much needed though, as it weights about 3,300 ounds.  It has a sturdy suspension-unequal length A-arms up front, sway bars, and parallel leaf springs supporting a 9" Ford rear housing 3:25 gears, and a big disc/drum brake set-up.  Is that not a piece of work?  I'd love to just talk to it and drive it and let it know I was there and that I loved it.  I would be out waxing this thing like every night!  It is sooo sweet!  RAH!  Well that is all the info for now.  Got other cars to do ya know!
