Jean's Bars

1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar

Frosting:
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla

Filling:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.  In small bowl, cut margarine into flour and sugar until crumbly.  Press in bottom of ungreased 9" x 13" pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.  Cool 10 minutes.  In large bowl, combine all filling
ingredients; mix well.  Spread over partially baked crust.  Return to oven and bake 15-20
minutes or until golden brown.  Cool completely.  In small bowl, blend all frosting ingredients
until creamy; spread over bars.  Cut into bars. Makes 36.
Chewy Noels

4 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 eggs
2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups walnuts
2 teaspoons vanilla

Melt butter in the bottom of a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan.  Mix together remaining
ingredients.  Pour into pan and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.  Can sprinkle
top with powdered sugar.  Cut into squares and serve.
Coffee Bars

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup hot coffee
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup raisins or nuts

Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon soft margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash of hot water

Cream together shortening, sugar, and egg.  Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon and add to creamed mixture.  Add coffee, vanilla, and raisins/nuts.  Pour into 12" x 16" cookie sheet (Teflon).  Bake at 350 degrees for 15-16 minutes.  While still warm and before
removing from pan, spread icing on cake and cut into squares (2" x 2").  Serves 24-36.
