Our nation is a nation of laws yet many create more problems than they solve. Are we a nation restricted?
Entry for October 28, 2006
I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that we are a nation that is straining under the restrictions imposed on us by the laws of our nation and state goverments.  I don't mean to imply that laws are unnecessary, because they are needed. Many laws simply make no sense and in many ways create more problems than they create. Prohibition is an excellent example of how prohibiting alcohol created an underworld of crime and violence that turned our nation upside down. Laws that don't impose restrictions on personal liberties that make sense are needed.
