| TIPS FOR PARENTS | ||||||||
| First and foremost I would like to thank all of you for your dedication to your child's education and wellbeing. I am truly inspired by all that I see in these children and the ambitions that they hold. There are a few things that we can do to insure that your children are prepared for success each day as they finish their middle school career and begin to enter high school. 1. Talking with your kids. Ask your kids what they do at school. Ask them what they are learning, how they feel about what they are learning and how they can use the information in their own lives. Try connecting what they are learning to what you have experienced and what they have experienced also. Education is all about making connections, building on what we have already learned and trying to understand the past and future. The more they talk about what they learn they will have a better understanding of the material. 2. Sleep! It is very important they kids get enough sleep and consistantly the same amount. Have a set bedtime that they need to follow every night. Get them into a routine of sleeping at the same time will help them stay alert during the school day. 3. Breakfast time! Make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast every morning. It gives brain power for their day of learning ahead of them! |
