May 2002,

As I sit surveying the countryside around me, waiting to head	home after a few days away. I reflect upon the good and the bad times of the years since transition. The stares and odd looks are less frequent now and for the most part there are very few people in my life who know me as anyone else than Sarah. The best is the many good friends around the globe and here in the UK with whom there is a lively discourse of girly chitchat and support. Of special mention here are three very dear people, my cousin, and Sarah in the US who have supported me in rebuilding my career and self esteem in more ways than they know, and Jay who although we have only corresponded for a short while has made me laugh so much with her stories and her kind words. There is also my special friend Sara for whom I am thrilled to be a doting "Auntie" to her lovely babies.

The "in laws", all of you are truly great, in making me so welcome to your family, I know its been hard. But you have never ever been anything else than I could have hoped for.

Lastly of course the one who brings a smile to my face and lights a sparkle in my eye and a hand to hold, Ade thanks.
