This Monday (18th February) Westlife are due to release their next single 'World Of Our Own'. It is taken from their most recent album of the same name. If it gets to number one on the 24th February, it will be their 10th number one! Good luck guys with the new single!
5th February 2000
Westlife made it to number 1 on 19th December 1999, making 'I have a Dream' and 'Seasons in the Sun' the Christmas number1! Then they managed to hold onto this top spot for another week, meaning they had the new year/millenium number 1! Then after this they held their ground and were number 1 for a further two weeks, meaning they were number 1 for a total of 4 weeks! It was a brilliant achievement!! Also, it was the longest anyone had been at number 1 since Cher in 1998. So, I'd say they'd done pretty well!!
During January 2000 the WL boys were in the US and South America for a lot of promotion, for the US single release of 'Swear it Again' on 22nd February 2000. I'm not too sure what number it got to now (but I will try and find out!)
Before then, Bryan, Mark, Shane, Kian and Nicky headlined the gig in aid of Childline, in Dublin on 13th February 2000.
