Sample Review

To illustrate how I review websites, I created this sample review. I used my other site, The Senshi Temple, as a guinea pig for this site. A review could be shorter or longer than this one, depending on the number of pages the site contains. If you see this image , put your mouse over it to learn more.

Homepage
Layout: 14 pts - Top looks lovely, neatly organized, but farther down, things get a little scattered everywhere.
Background: 19 pts - Great colors and background image. Love the music!
Images: 14 pts - I love the inverted picture of the scouts at the top. Images are pretty well organized, though some seem out of place.
Information: 18 pts - Everything's spelled correctly, and it's easy to navigate.
Technicals: 15 pts - All links work, loads quickly, but some fonts look too big.
Comments: Overall, your main page is great. Wonderful introduction to your site! I'd change that huge title if I were you, though, and the
email/screen-name thing seems out of place.
Total: 80 pts.

About Sailor Moon
Layout: 17 pts - Very neat and easy to read.
Background: 18 pts - I love this background! The music is kinda weird, though (the drums make it sound odd).
Images: 12 pts - You should change the images on top to transparent gifs. I like the Venus Home button on the bottom!
Information: 20 pts - The summaries are awesome! I didn't catch any spelling or grammar errors, and the info was accurate.
Technicals: 16 pts - The title font should be a little smaller. Nice font size for the rest of the page and good colors. Loaded quickly.
Total: 83 pts.

Scout Bios
Layout: 16 pts - Things need organized a little better.
Background: 16 pts - Cute backgrounds and nice music.
Images: 9 pts - Many images seem scattered about, and several should be made into transparent gifs. I love the attacks for each scout!
Information: 18 pts - All info seems accurate. Easy to read and understand, no mistakes.
Technicals: 15 pts - Fonts seem kinda big or too bold. Colors are good. Some bio pages take a while to load, probably from all the images.
Comments: Pretty good, but needs organized. Maybe you can add more scouts to your list if you have the time!
Total: 72 pts.

Temple News
Layout: 17 pts - Neat and organized.
Background: 18 pts - Background fits theme. Love the music, though it doesn't have anything to do with Sailor Moon, but then not every-
thing on this page does.
Images: 15 pts - I like the drawing of you, though the picture could be a little smaller.
Information: 19 pts - I like that you have news on Sailor Moon, DBZ, your site, and even you!
Technicals: 20 pts - Perfect.
Total: 89 pts.

Senshi Picture Gallery
Layout: 13 pts - Some images seem scattered and just plastered onto the page.
Background: 19 pts - Cool background and fitting music.
Images: 12 pts - Images are scattered and there are too many on one page. Maybe you could create thumbnails or list the images instead of
putting them all on one page. I like the screen tips on the pictures, though.
Information: 18 pts - Mouse-over messages explain pictures well.
Technicals: 12 pts - Took forever to load because of all the images.
Total: 74 pts.

Story by Me - A Gathering of Courage
Layout: 19 pts - Nice and neat, easily read.
Background: 17 pts - Perfect for the story. Background music didn't load.
Images: 20 pts - The picture at the bottom was perfect for the end of the story.
Information: 17 pts - Correct name spellings and few errors.
Technicals: 17 pts - The font is a little large, but that makes it easier to read.
Comments: Cute story! Maybe you could add more fanfic? I think this is one of your best pages.
Total: 90 pts.

Other Anime
Layout: 13 pts - Things seem unorganized on the DBZ and Tenchi pages.
Background: 15 pts - The green background is not too pretty, but the other backgrounds are great! The music is perfect.
Images: 12 pts - Images seem strewn about. Why is there a picture of Heero if there is no Gundam page?
Information: 18 pts - You explain DBZ and Tenchi very well.
Technicals: 8 pts - Fonts are large, the pages loaded slowly, the page with the green background is kind of ugly.
Comments: Maybe you could create links on your homepage than link directly to your DBZ and Tenchi pages.
Total: 66 pts.

Fan Art
Layout: 20 pts - I love the colors. This page is neat and very easy to navigate. Quick to load, too.
Background: 17 pts - The background is simple, but that may be best for this section. Good idea not to add music.
Images: 19 pts - Samples of artwork in the corners of each page are great. Images are arranged nicely with good descriptions.
Information: 14 pts - I'd like to know more about the artists.
Technicals: 18 pts - Good use of color, fast loading, nice font size, all links work (bravo), and it looks very professional!
Comments: Keep up the great work on this page!
Total: 88 pts.

Anime Love Quiz
Layout: 18 pts - I like the throbbing hearts. Nicely centered.
Background: 15 pts - Cute background that fits the theme. The music doesn't sound right (it should be lighter and happier).
Images: 16 pts - Nice pics of the dream guys. Not organized that well.
Information: 18 pts - Cute info on your dream guy.
Technicals: 14 pts - AH! The font is so big, especially on Darien's page! Maybe you could make the fonts smaller, or maybe not as bold.
Comments: I got Darien for my dream guy. Cute quiz! I have to get my friends to take it!
Total: 81 pts.

All About Me
Layout: 15 pts - Kind of unorganized, and the captions look odd.
Background: 17 pts - Nice simple background, and the music is great! I love 311!
Images: 13 pts - Cute photos, but there are too many on one page. They could be arranged nicer, and the captions could be screen tips.
Information: 19 pts - This page has tons of information about you, which I think more sites should have!
Technicals: 10 pts - Font could be smaller or less bold. Pictures take forever to load.
Comments: Cute, but maybe you could arrange your photos like you arranged your fanart page.
Total: 74 pts.

Adoptions
Layout: 12 pts - Images and descriptions are scattered everywhere, and the colors seem weird.
Background: 11 pts - Music didn't load. Cute background, but it doesn't really fit the theme (too cute?).
Images: 15 pts - Images unorganized, and some pictures, like Tamahome, should be made into transparent gifs to look better.
Information: 15 pts - Good descriptions, but not organized well. I like that you link back to where you adopted the pets.
Technicals: 8 pts - Fonts look terrible, both the style and the size. The page took a while to load, and some links didn't work.
Comments: If you're going to fix any of your pages, this one needs it most.
Total: 61 pts.

Links
Layout: 12 pts - Looks weird with everything to the right of the page.
Background: 14 pts - The music is good. Was this Iria image meant to be a background?
Images: 14 pts - The banners at the bottom look terrible with the backround.
Information: 17 pts - Good descriptions of the links, neatly organized in categories.
Technicals: 13 pts - One link doesn't work and the colors don't go together on this page.
Comments: I'd find another background.
Total: 70 pts.

WWF Shrine
Layout: 13 pts - Unorganized and scattered about the page.
Background: 16 pts - Fits WWF theme. Good music - I love DX!
Images: 11 pts - Scattered, takes a while to load all the images, and the captions look weird.
Information: 12 pts - You could explain a little more about WWF.
Technicals: 11 pts - Fonts look large and the captions look odd.
Comments: This really has nothing to do with anime, but it's your unique touch. I like that.
Total: 63 pts.
