That my friend is indeed the question. Well at least the first question.
In general, the goal is to get to I-95 since it goes directly though Newark, Delaware. Once on I-95 in Delaware take Exit 1: Route 896 North toward hotel locations. The Howard Johnson will be located on the Right after crossing over I-95. The Sleep Inn and Embassy Suites are approximately 1/4 of a mile up the road on the Left.
FROM THE WEST:
Take I-70 East (PA-turnpike) and follow I-70 East through Breezewood, PA and into Maryland (off of the PA-turnpike). Follow I-70 East towards Baltimore and take I-695 North around Baltimore and eventually to I-95 North towards New York City / Philadephia.
FROM THE NORTH:
Take Tappan Zee or George Washington bridge around or through New York City and follow the Garden State Parkway South to the New Jersey Turnpike. After crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge ($4 toll only coming South) follow signs for I-95 South.
FROM THE SOUTH:
Take I-295/I-95 around Washington D.C. and eventually onto I-95 headed toward Baltimore. Take I-95 through Baltimore ($6 total in tolls) directly to Newark, DE.
FROM THE EAST:
I don't think anyone is driving across the Atlantic Ocean. If you are, give us a ring and we'll help you out.
Closest Airports are in Philadelphia (PHL, Airport located Southwest of Philadelphia, 30 min drive) and in Baltimore (BWI, Airport is located SW of Baltimore, 90 min drive). No tolls exist between PHL and Newark. Tolls between BWI and Newark total $12 round trip.
Southwest Airlines flies into both locations.
