| RECYCLED HANDMADE PAPER by Sarah Rose |
| The material used is off cut waste from a distributor of bulk card and paper, who supplies news agencies, schools and businesses with large amounts of paper products. Perfect for recycling into hand-made paper! My handmade paper is beautiful and the colours range from bright, saturated primary colours to soft, subtle pastel hues. Each piece of paper is unique and has a slightly different surface texture. Each sheet is also fine and even and where more than one colour has been combined the effect is aesthetically pleasing. Calcium Carbonate has also been added to the pulp to act as a PH neutralizer and to aid in the longevity of the paper. 'Recycling' is a key factor in the overall process of making this paper from the use of recycled paper and card off cuts to the utilization of recycled fabrics sourced from op shops for couching the paper pulp. The paper making frames, which I have made, have also been manufactured from recycled timber sourced from a Fremantle boat building yard and the water used throughout the entire process is recycled onto the garden. I love making Paper!!!! |
