El Suyatal is an aldea, which is a small outlying community, of a larger town called Cedros in the department of Fransisco Morazon. There are about 3000 people in the casco urbano, which is the town itself, not including the surrounding countryside and aldeas. Our health center is staffed by one nurse, who is doing her year of social service. Kind of like student teaching in the health care field. In ideal circumstances she would have another, experienced nurse working with her, but in our rural areas we take what we can get. Under the influence of our health center we have six outlying towns: Zalitre, Aguacate, Tamarindo, Giniape, Kiskamote, and Malalista. |
