Settling In
Well, I decided it was time to update this page again.  Things here have been pretty good the last week.  For those of you who heard through the grapevine that I was in bed sick for three days while dad was here--I'm up and about again!  No need to worry.  Dad has been a huge help in making my apartment feel like home.  We put in new linoleum flooring over the nasty concrete floor in my entryway and bathroom, and have hung up pictures and mirrors and done lots of other stuff!  We were even able to find a shower rod and curtain to hang up!  I still have no hot water, and yesterday a man came to my apartment to disconnect my old hot water heater in preparation for putting the new one in.  Unfortunately, the new one won't be installed until at least Monday because today and tomorrow are Bulgarian National holidays.  Oh well, at least I don't live in a water regime!!!  (sorry Jake!)

Tomorrow night will be my last night with dad before he leaves, and we are preparing a great dinner of homemade chili.  Since this will use up a lot of my chili powder I expect to receive some in the mail from someone who doesn't want to see me go hungry.  On Saturday dad and I will head out to Bourgas for the day, and Saturday night we will take the night train into Sofia.  Once there I will set him up in a hotel, and get him ready to fly out on Monday.  And after checking for mail and packages in Sofia, I will head back home on the express train.

Monday morning I officially start work.  What's nice about that is that I have a meeting in Bourgas on Monday, and it will probably take up the majority of the day.  What a way to spend my first day of work!!

I should go now but keep those letters coming, and if you ever feel the need to send me peanut butter or anything else American, you have my address!!!  Just make sure to mark it "educational materials", and don't put an amount over $50 on the customs form!!!!

I love you and miss you all!
Love, sarah
