When we arrived in Sofia on Wednesday, we were greeted by other volunteers, and the entire staff of PC BG (peace corps bulgaria).  We got on a bus and drove through Panagyurishte, where training is, and went to a mountain resort in a town called Strelcha.  We stayed there for two nights and came to Panagyurishte on Friday night.  We met our host families at the school where we will be training.
Bulgaria is so beautiful.  I can't even explain it.  my host parents are wonderful, and very hospitable.  they don't speak english, but my host dad speaks some italian so i'm getting some practice!  i start school tomorrow, and i'm glad for that.  I want to be able to speak to everyone.  I can't upload any pictures from here....so i will have to wait until i get to my site.  it's so green---gracivo.  that means beautiful!!  i'm learning.  well, time is running out and my host mom is waiting for me to finish.  i will write more soon.  i miss you all!!!

I was able to get here without my host mom...not that I don't like her but she won't let me pay for anything so i felt bad and didn't want to spend much time online.  I came back by myself (it's very close to my house - just around the corner).  Everyone here is wonderful.  Very nice and very eager to help me learn bulgarian.  Last night I experienced my first "na gosti".  When people come and visit for hours.  Spaskas' (my host mother) brother Peter and his wife came over, and another friend who lives with her husband in Italy.  It was half Italian and half Bulgarian!!  Very interesting.
I'm still having problems connecting to AIM, but I'm trying!!!  It's very expensive to call home, so I will do it sparingly, but I hope to talk to everyone soon.
