| Friday, 2 Nov. 2001: Snow. |
| I swear it's going to snow any day now. I'm up in Omertag for the long weekend. Yesterday was a holiday celebrating all the teachers, and other liberators of Bulgarian history/culture, so I have a 4 day weekend. I'm trying to spend it relaxing but it's hard when it's sooo cold out! I know, everyone makes fun of me for being the "Arizona girl" who can't handle the cold weather, but I'd like to see them struggle through an Arizona summer. I'm just not used to the cold. I've been pretty busy this last week, a bunch of people have been observing my classes, expecially my Halloween Special. The kids loved it!! I also have been visiting my share of classes as well. The 11th graders are pretty awesome, and the first graders keep asking "kade e Sarah?" (where is Sarah), and wondering when I will begin teaching them. They are unbelievably cute. I'm supposed to start teaching them on Tuesday/Wednesday this week, but I will be doing double time because the other english teaching will be in Shoumen again for school. And my site visit is this week, so the little ones may have to wait a little longer. I start teaching in the morning again, and I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I won't be leaving school at 6:30pm (in the dark) anymore, but now I start teaching at 7:30am and my walk to school will be in the dark. Either way, it's cold. After this week I am heading off to Pleven for the In-Service Training, where I will wow everyone with all my advancements in the Bulgarian Language!! At least I will be able to see all my friends. I'm glad I was able to switch to the "north" IST because that's the one all my friends are going to (except Chantel-Get your butt into the north girl!!) I hope everyone is doing well, and rooting for my D-backs to win the World Series!! Take care... I guess that's all for now. I received one of mom's packages, and should get dad's any day know. For all of you that have been writing or emailing, keep it up!! I love getting email and letters/packages. For those of you that seem to have forgotten about me, well, I don't hold grudges!! :) Love, Sarah |
