| Sunday, 14 Oct. 2001: Lazy Weekend. |
| I've never before thought of myself as a simple person, things have always been complicated one way or another. But this weekend I have discovered something...I'm an incredibly simple person. I have done nothing other than spend the whole weekend alone, read "Jane Eyre" to the end, go to Bourgas for a movie, and eat cheddar cheese. Yes, let me say it again. I ate cheddar cheese. I have never been more elated. I didn't realize how such small things could really make you feel good. The movie stunk, but it was in english. I'm tired from staying up until 3am to finish the book, but it was great. And I had triscuits on which to put my wonderful cheddar cheese. I thought that I would be lonely spending the weekend by myself, and I was surprised. I also got to talk to mom last night, which was great. I never realize how quikickly an hour passes when you're on the phone with loved ones far away. Tomorrow I'm going to visit both of the local orphanages so I have been mentally preparing myself. But tonight is still the weekend, and I intend to enjoy it! I was invited to Dimitrina's apartment to watch a movie tonight. I always love spending time with them, so it should be great fun. Well, I'm off to buy a bottle of wine or something to take with me tonight. I guess that's all for now. I don't have much else to tell you that I haven't already. I love you and miss you all. Take care Love, Sarah p.s. I have recently been asked for ideas to fill up all those packages you generously want to send to me. Other than the usual american food ideas, I am desperately going to need long underwear (tops and bottoms) for the winter. I hate to say it but it's already getting cold, and I'm being told by everyone that it just gets colder! I could use a couple of scarves, one or two good kitchen knives (although I don't know how you'd ship it right now), some of those bubble envelopes (sml and lrg) so I can send home more CD's with pictures, maybe a Dave Matthews Band CD or the Great Expectations Soundtrack. And, you can never go wrong with books, magazines, newspapers from home, anything that is written in english! I'm going through about a book a day right now, and my supply is dwindling!! That's all I can think of. Love you all!! |
