Sarah Rashti Ms.Gokturk BEFORE THE TRIAL- Now that we are off the island I still feel as though I cant close my eyes for if I do something else will go wrong. If Jack had not gotten involved then maybe just maybe everything could have ended a little better and maybe I could have been alive today. If Jack had worried about the fire I little bit more then his hunting we could have been saved a lot sooner and all of this nonsense would have never accrued. I understand where Jack is coming from when he says we needed meat, but he didnt have to take all his men, he could have let two watch the fire and the rest do the hunting and they could have rotated. Only if jack hadnt gone so far. I believe that this trial is being held for a good purpose, and that is to punish jack for all his wrong doings. Punish in away that he will be taught a lesson. Jack I did have good intensions he was just driven over the edge by insanity. And his ridicules thirst for power. So when I say punish all him I mean in a good way, though he must also pay for all the lives he took and all the lives he almost took. I was not killed by Jack I was killed by Roger one of Jacks choirboys. Though I do believe that Roger was driven to through that bolder at me because of Jack. The way Jack ruled all those boys its almost as though he took them down the road of insanity with him. Towards the end of our stay on the island Jack set out to kill Ralph, he searched the whole island and when he couldnt find him he lit the whole island up in flames. They were lucky there was a ship that saw them and came to see what was going on. But what if there wasnt anyone to rescue them, what would have done. They burnt down the fruit trees, what were they going to eat? They burnt down there shelters, where were they going to sleep? Everyone and everything on that island was in danger Because of Jack and his selfish ways, his jealousness, and his uncaring feelings towards any one else. Sarah Rashti Ms. Gokturk DURING THE TRIAL- I feel as though this trial was a very exciting, up roaring and confusing trial. Though my feelings still remain the same. My feelings still remain the same in that I feel as though jack is a very violent person regarding if he is a child or not. Yes I can give him the credit in that being on this island for so long you will eventually go insane. But from the beginning Jack gave off the signals that he though he was better then everyone else and if anyone though different he would dislike them so much he would torture them mentally which eventually turned physical. Jack showed violence in the courtroom as well. When he talked out of line with an attitude in an almost yelling voice. When the lawyers would ask him about his behavior on the island he simply blamed it on him being a child. Though I didnt see anyone else killing each other until the end of our stay when Jack had succeeded on winning most of the biguns and teaching them that his way was the right way. Jack said that he made is own tribe because nothing was going anywhere with Ralph in charge, and when no one would vote him out of chief Jack went his own way. But as he said Ralph was chief and you voted it that way. There-for you should have given him a chance. Maybe if you listened to what he had to say, things would have gotten done. The psychiatrist even agreed that Jacks behavior on that island was ridiculous and a threat to the other boys. She stated when seeing these qualities that took place on the island by Jack merdrew I am concerned that Jack is not well and might be a threat to others, now and in the near future. I feel as though sitting here watching the trial my feelings have not changed. I still feel as though Jack should be punished though punished in a way that he is taught a lesson. Sarah Rashti Ms. Gokturk AFTER THE TRIAL- The verdict is in and Jack was found guilty. I agree with this in that everything that was done by Jack on the island was illegal, he went from stealing, to torturing, to murdering. There-for he should and is going to be punished. As I said throughout my other documents, before, during and now after the trial, my feeling have not yet changed. I felt then and still do now that Jacks punishment should be a punishment that will make him pay the price for all his wrong doings along with the punishment should be a lesson, teaching him that power is not your first priority, and killing is an unforgiving task. I am not yet aware of Jacks punishment though I do hope it is a sensible punishment. I feel, as though this trial was nothing but a fair trial. 1
